When Better Nutrition moved to California last May, it joined a company already full of transplants. And wouldn't you know it, within the first couple of months, the health hiccups started: One staff member had wisdom teeth that needed to be extracted; another developed a respiratory infection; one developed back muscle spasms; and others had sick pets. My colleagues have been hastily hunting down recommendations for dentists, doctors, chiropractors and veterinarians. Luckily, we are surrounded by others who share our passion for a healthful lifestyle and who have lived in the Los Angeles area for some time. But it isn't always as easy as asking a friend or colleague for a referral since most may not have the same natural health inclinations.
