LIZ CLAMAN, CNBC ANCHOR: The Aloha State says high prices at the pump are absolutely unwelcome and they`re doing something about it. Hawaii is now authorizing caps on wholesale gasoline prices, the first U.S. state to do so since the early 1970s. This week on the retail level, prices on Maui have already topped $3 a barrel. A year ago, we were asking ourselves if oil could hit $50. Obviously we`ve been there and done that, now. Crude oil right now trading at $66.85, down today 47 cents. More experts though, moment by moment, project the prices will go higher for oil. Try as high as $100 a barrel.
