Aug. 24--Pier 1 Imports Inc. slashed its quarterly profit outlook again Tuesday, saying that customer traffic continued to decline but that a September catalog launch should help drive future sales.

The Fort Worth-based home furnishings chain said it expects to report a second-quarter loss in the range of 12 to 14 cents a share vs. a year-ago profit of 12 cents. Analysts had estimated a loss of 6 cents, according a Thomson First Call...
