Aug. 23--Pier 1 Imports Inc. today slashed its profit outlook further as customer traffic continues to decline this month.
In late morning trading, the Fort Worth-based home furnishings chain's stock price is down 6 percent, or 83 cents, at $13.03 a share and near its 52-week low....
