BRAD GOODE, CNBC ANCHOR: Our top story this morning, Northwest Airlines (NWAC), mechanics and aircraft cleaners are beginning their third day on the picket line now. And that has not shut the carrier down. The first U.S. airline strike in some four years caused some delays and cancellations, but Northwest says there have been no major disruptions. That`s because the airline brought in about 1,500 temporary workers and outside vendors to replace its 4,400 striking employees. Perhaps more significantly, none of Northwest`s other unions launched a sympathy strike to honor the mechanics` picket line.
