DAVIE, Fla. _ Miami Dolphins reserve guard Eric Wilson is still stunned that he will never hear the sound of his friend Thunder again.
San Francisco 49ers offensive lineman Thomas Herrion, so nicknamed because of his booming voice, had died Sunday morning after collapsing in the locker room following an exhibition game against the host Denver Broncos. Wilson and Herrion had started in spring for the Hamburg Sea Devils in NFL Europe.
"He was one of those loud, obnoxious, just funny guys," Wilson said Monday. "He was a good person to be around. He always did what the coaches asked. He was a hard worker.
