Burn Prevention A new pill is a ray of hope in the battle against sun-induced wrinkles and skin cancer. Sun Vitamines contains a fern-derived antioxidant that, in a Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General study, significantly reduced pigmentation and sunburned cells in patients exposed to UV light. Yale dermatology professor David J. Leffell is cautiously optimistic: "The studies are reputable, and they've demonstrated a promising effect on humans." Bottom Line: They won't replace a bottle of SPF 30, but taken regularly, Sun Vitamines may help compensate for inadequate sunscreen application. -- CARA BIRNBAUM
