fat injections

One patient's experience with a more radical filler.

fat transplant

Patient: Morgan*, 24 Procedure: Fat transplants in cheeks, lips, and under eyes Doctor: New York City plastic surgeon Sydney Coleman Patient Experience: "I was in a car accident when I was 13, and a lot of fat disappeared on one side of my hips. I wanted to balance that, and while I was having liposuction, I thought I might as well go for the rest of it, including filling out my undereye circles. Although there was no pain during the procedure because I was under anesthesia, I could barely stand up or sit for three days afterward due to the liposuction. Chewing was almost impossible, and even using a straw was difficult. I was drooling the first week, and the skin on my lips came off in sheets. I didn't even leave my apartment for 17 days because of the swelling, except to have the liposuction stitches removed. Four months later, some people told me my lips looked nice, but I felt my bottom lip was bulkier than I expected. But now I'm used to it, and I'm pleased with the results."

"Chewing was almost impossible. I didn't leave my apartment for 17 days because of the swelling."
