Creme Fresh
When it comes to blush, most women have the rules down pat: a brush for powders and a fingertip for creams. Now some cosmetics companies are offering a cheeky alternative -- creating special brushes for their creamy colors. "A brush distributes pigment evenly, preventing the mottled look you get by 'dotting' on color with your fingers," says makeup artist Chrisanne Davis. Becca's synthetic Creme Blush brush is wide enough to prevent those clownlike circles. And Giorgio Armani uses natural-fiber bristles to deliver the powdery finish of its Sheer Cream Blush (right). An added benefit: "By using a brush, you keep out bacteria and oils, which can cause breakouts," Davis says. Gives a whole new meaning to the words "clean sweep." Bottom Line: New brushes work with cream to yield a soft flush -- and fingers don't get messy.
