A starlet is born

With Brandon Davis at the Race to Erase MS, Los Angeles "Tommy Hilfiger picked that dress for me, and it felt very cool and flappery. But I was like, 'There's no way I'm walking down the runway. You couldn't pay me enough money.' And they were like, 'C'mon, it's charity. Please. Tommy will give you the best dress.' I was so happy when it was over."

Rodeo Drive Walk of Style event honoring Tom Ford, Beverly Hills "This dress felt very much bigger than me. Kind of glamorous, and I love it, but very much an 'outfit,' like I was dressing up, and I wasn't 100 percent comfortable in it. I was wearing no makeup, and I just pulled my hair back really quickly. I felt very mature, like 30."

With Ashlee Simpson and Wilmer Valderrama at the Teen Choice Awards, Los Angeles "I love Wilmer. He's one of those guys where my mom's like, 'He's so sweet!' And it was fun to present that award to Ashlee. She started talking before the show started, so we were probably laughing about that."

Late Show With David Letterman "I loved doing Letterman. I was so nervous going in -- I didn't want to sign any autographs, and I ran right in. And when it was done, I was really happy. That's my Chanel trench coat. I loved those shoes, too."
