By Robyn Forman The pashmina trend may have wrapped long ago, but cocktail parties and chilly nights have not. Designers came to the rescue, draping their runways with shrunken cover-ups that are a hybrid of coats and accessories. J. Mendel showed a fiery red mink shrug with jeweled trim; Valentino created a sequined cardigan in pink angora; Gucci embellished silk shrugs with tassels and embroidery. The decorative toppers provide coverage for bare dresses (albeit teasingly minimal), and "they work with almost everything," says J. Mendel creative director Kym Canter.
