The Apprentice's Carolyn Kepcher has definitely left the boardroom. Our favorite ice queen warms up to a brand-new look. By Sarah Van Boven
When the Donald's right-hand woman walked into the studio for her photo shoot with Michael Thompson, she could not have looked less like the boardroom dominatrix television viewers have come to know (and fear) over the past two seasons of The Apprentice. Dressed in jeans, a red cotton Ralph Lauren shirt, and Pumas, Carolyn Kepcher seemed more like a Connecticut mom -- and not even a particularly strict one, at that. We aren't the only ones who've noticed. "Whenever people see me on the street, they say one of two things," she laughed. "Either 'Oh, my God, you're so young,' or 'Oh, my God, you actually smile!'" Since the woman dubbed "The Ice Queen" by the tabloids bears a resemblance to "The Queen of Hearts," Princess Diana, the original idea for the makeover was to amp up her eye makeup, slick back her cropped hair, and zip her reed-thin body into a big-time evening gown with equally big-time jewels. Once the 35-year-old Kepcher settled languidly into a studio chair and started joking with makeup artist Dick Page and hairstylist Serge Normant, however, plans changed.
