Insiders' Guide Total MAkeover
Abigail Einstein, 28, chef
THINKING BACK: "I was freaked out when I started this process. I don't even like walking around my house in a bathing suit, let alone wearing one in a magazine," Einstein says. "I've gotten a lot out of this, but I've lost anonymity. The other day I was on the treadmill, and my trainer said, 'I'll turn around while you type in your weight.' I was like, 'Are you kidding me? The secret is out.'" SUCCESSES: "I've always been big on working out. Going to the gym isn't a problem -- it's a natural part of my routine," Einstein says. "But losing weight has helped me with my workouts. I've added elements like kickboxing that I wouldn't have felt comfortable doing when I was 30 pounds heavier." STRUGGLES: "Food is difficult for me and always will be," Einstein says. "It's something I have to deal with on a day-to-day basis." BODY PROGRESS: "I've lost a hundred pounds since I was at my heaviest, which I know sounds exciting," Einstein says. "But it takes a long time for your mind to catch up with your body -- I still feel like I'm heavier than I am. I'm proud of what I've accomplished, but I think I could have lost more weight if I'd stuck more closely to the diet." THE FUTURE: "I'll definitely stay with my trainer and keep trying with the food," she says. "I still want to lose another 30 pounds."
