Full Circle The new voluminous skirts are equal parts flirty and flattering. By Jenny Bailly Most seasons, designers deliver a few clear directives: "It's all about...minis! Satin cargos! Satin cargo minis!" This fall, however, the message is mixed. At one extreme are hip-clinging pencil skirts; at the other are full and flared ones. Miuccia Prada kicked off the trend with skirts in ombre and printed silk. Ralph Lauren made his in tweed. Even Dolce & Gabbana, who usually embrace skintight everything, got in on the action -- albeit in leopard print. These skirts offer room to breathe (not to mention walk). But rather than replicate the prim 1950s housewife uniform, the season's best ones avoid the vintage cliches by keeping things snug from the waist up.
