Body Shimmer
Body Shimmer Would Kate Moss wear light-up Santa earrings? We think not. For those with an ounce of style (and self-respect), makeup artist Jenna Anton recommends spreading some holiday cheer in body-shimmer form. Exfoliate in the shower. "You want your skin to be clean and smooth," Anton says. A scrub with tiny beads will do the job without scratching your skin. Stick to the basics: silver shimmer for pale skin and gold for olive or darker skin. And look for formulas without big chunks -- the finer the sparkly particles, the more sophisticated the effect. For a light allover sheen, spread a shimmer lotion (like Scott Barnes Body Bling) over bare skin. To prevent overload, mix it with a normal body lotion. For intense sparkle on one spot -- like your decolletage -- use powder and a puff. "Be sure skin is dry, or the powder and moisturizer will mix into a gooey mess," Anton says. Wait five minutes before dressing so the shimmer can set. If you get any on your clothes, a polyurethane sponge dabbed in water should pick it up. Don't forget your face. A shiny body with a totally matte face can be jarring. Apply a glimmery cream or powder on eyelids or cheekbones.
