Slicked-back hair has long been associated with ballerinas, Robert Palmer girls, and guys from New Jersey named Paulie. Well, that's all about to change. At nearly every fall runway show, hair was slick, shiny, and smooth. Sometimes it was coiled into a tight bun, as at Gucci; other times it was combed close to the head up top and left hanging down in loose waves below, as at Marc Jacobs; and at its most extreme, at Dolce & Gabbana, the hair was pulled back so tightly, the models complained of headaches.
