Aug. 9--OCALA, Fla. -- With the anniversary of Hurricane Charley looming, local retailers say they're better prepared for the heart of hurricane season this year.
Starting last Aug. 13, Charley -- and Frances, Ivan and Jeanne behind it -- tore a swath of devastation throughout Florida, often leaving hard-hit areas without power and without necessities such as water, ice and nonperishable food.
