``Killing Yourself to Live,'' the latest collection of first-person musings by writer and critic Chuck Klosterman, is exploitive. And narcissistic. And a bit desperate, because it makes him seem like someone who can't let go of the past. Who, you might ask, wants to read another book about some death-obsessed drug addict who listens to Fleetwood Mac and lionizes the women who used to drive him crazy? Klosterman could well be flirting with becoming the male Elizabeth Wurtzel, the shamelessly attention-starved author of ``Prozac Nation.'' This book could even be unfavorably compared to Nick Hornby's ``High Fidelity.''
