Like Natasha Richardson, Denzel Washington is proving his star quality on Broadway. I took in a matinee on the final Sunday of my theater marathon in April, catching him as Marcus Brutus in Shakespeare's Julius Caesar. Washington might not have played the title role, but his was the only named spelled out in yellow Broadway lights at the Belasco Theater-for good reason.
