At its latest meeting, held in San Antonio, Texas, just prior to the 50th Annual Convention, the IRA Board of Directors took action on a number of issues, including the following:
[check] approved the awarding of the 2005 International Reading Association Award for Innovative Reading Promotion in Europe to Anu Ratasep and Hele Kriisa of Estonia for "Interactive Literacy Project: Reading Is Fun," as recommended by the International Development in Europe Committee
