A few years ago, I took my parents and another couple on a tour of some of my favorite haunts in Spain. We went to the bullfights in Madrid and spent hours at the Prado. We toured the Alcazar in Seville and visited Christopher Columbus's grave at the cathedral. Cordoba was next on the itinerary, but when we stopped for the night at Trasierra, a small but sprawling hotel on 400 unspoiled acres in the Sierra Morena mountains, the plan went out the window.
