Common Usage: Phenelzine is indicated for the treatment of depression.

Important Side Effects: The most serious possible side effect associated with the use of phenelzine is hypertension. Other possible side effects include anorexia; blurred vision; carbohydrate craving; chills; CNS stimulation (muscle twitching during sleep, restlessness or agitation, trouble sleeping); constipation; decreased sexual ability; diarrhea; drowsiness; dryness of mouth; hepatitis (dark urine, skin rash, yellow eyes or skin); increased appetite and weight gain; increased sweating; leukopenia (fever, sore throat); mild headache without increase in blood pressure; …
