In the mid- and late 1980s, this magazine called attention again and again to what it termed "the Changing Face of the Cosmetic Industry," this by way of labeling the flurry of acquisitions, mergers and buyouts that altered the visages of so many companies, the careers of so many executives, and the futures of workers that later were affected by downsizing and trimming of product lines.
