Senior applications chemist, Zeneca Resins; president, New England Society for Coatings Technology
When Charles Chuck Shearer was at his first job with Belding Corticelli Thread Co. working as a chemist, he got introduced to the paint and coatings industry. Chuck liked seeing the end result of the products and running performance tests on them. "The people also seemed to enjoy it," Chuck said.
He skipped out of the thread business and got involved with Winfield Brooks Co. He then worked for Raffi & Swanson and later for L&CP Corp. until 1990, when he joined Zeneca Resins. He now is senior applications chemist there.
