Active support of education was the hallmark of the Los Angeles Society for Coatings Technology's 1994-95 year.

The society's Technical Committee developed a close working relationship with the California Polytechnic University-Pomona Chemistry Department. Paintmaking and paint-testing equipment was donated by society members and paint manufacturers to the university's Chemistry Department, and Ernie Simpson and Charles Miller of the university have worked with the society's Bud Jenkins, a coatings consultant, to prepare a continuing education program at the university for society members

The society's Manufacturing Committee sponsored a paint-manufacturing seminar in June, focusing on total quality management and related issues. …
