Interkama remains the world's C&I largest exhibition, and majors on intrinsic safety this year
Safety clearly features very large at the world's largest control and instrumentation exhibition, this year.
The Show also sees plenty of bus activity, with among others, the new Profibus profile, Profibus PA, the intrinsically safe version.
Profibus FMS (cell level) and DP (sensor/actor) work with the RS485 interface, and have a minimum baud rate of 93.75kbps. Profibus PA (process automation) uses IEC1158-2, which defines voltage and current levels, power transfer under abnormal conditions, and the inductance and capacitance of devices and cables. You can loop power 10 units in the IS area, at 31.25kbps. IEC1158-2 is also used by Fieldbus Foundation, ISP and WorldFIP (which isn't at the Show).
