Two Texas operators, Swift Energy Co., Houston, and Union Pacific Resources Co., Fort Worth, recently signed a joint development agreement for drilling a 19,500-acre area of mutual interest in that state's Fayette County.
The agreement, covering the North Fayetteville prospect in the vicinity of the Giddings (Austin Chalk) field, will consist of acreage contributed by both Swift and UPR and will be developed on a 50/50 basis, allowing for what the companies say is the most efficient development of the prospect.
