The Bat-Rite system and gadgetry that have put the tiger in the Tennessee hitting tank

In this wonderful world of video tapes and high-tech gadgetry, baseball coaches can count themselves among the blessed. The marketplace is loaded with all kinds of superlative wares with which to teach hitting, pitching, baserunning, fielding, and just about everything else.

At Tennessee, we have no compunction about using anything that works. We use quite a bit of gadgetry in helping our hitters get the most out of their quickness, strength, and natural aptitudes.

We believe that our Power Swing training system will give a team of 21 players the opportunity to get in as many as 300 swings in just an hour and 35 minutes.

It is important, we believe, to develop the hitter's swing in the cage area, and we spend much of our time working on tee stations, short toss, flip, etc. Once the basics are honed, we will go out on the field for live BP.
