In the annals of caricaturists, Sam Norkin may be less well known than A1 Hirschfeld, but he is no less distinctive an artist. For over 40 years, working mainly at the now-defunct New York Herald Tribune, later for the Daily News, and now as a freelancer for various outlets, Norkin has sketched scenes from hundreds of theatre, opera, and ballet productions, as well as many films. These have been gathered, along with a healthy selection of anecdotes and memories from his career, in this retrospective.
