Madison Paper buys FSC newsprint mill.

Madison Paper Co., Alsip, Ill., a newly formed, wholly-owned affiliate of Myllykoski Corp. in Finland, has completed the details to buy bankrupt FSC Paper Co. in the southwest Chicago suburb of Alsip. The mill produces 120,000 tpy of newsprint from 100% ONP and OMG.

Leroy J. Barry is chairman of the new company and also president and CEO of Madison Paper Industries in Maine, which is majority owned by Myllykoski.

Sales and marketing for the Alsip mill will be managed by Madison International Sales Co. in Stamford, Conn., and Chicago. It now represents 15 mills including those of Madison and European producers Myllykoski, …
