Companies change the focus of their human resource services at different stages of organizational development, according to "The Globalization of Human Resources," a benchmarking study by Arthur Andersen. Based on information from HR executives at 76 companies in North America and Europe, the study examines differences in HR functions at international, multinational, and global companies.

A key finding shows that attracting and retaining talented employees is the biggest challenge cited by HR professionals in organizations at all three development stages. In light of that finding, the study reveals that more than 50 percent of respondents at multinational and global companies …
