When Van den Bergh Foods in Purfleet (one of the largest margarine factories in the world) wanted to upgrade its overall control system, its engineering department linked up with system integrator, Dickinson Control Systems.

Graeme Anderson is project manager. 'We are already one of the most efficient manufacturers in Europe, but the success of our brands means that we are always looking to create additional capacity. One key way in which we can do this is by improving the level of control and the quality of information we have, which enables us to get the most out of the process and packing lines.'
