Sales from specific international markets reported strong increases for Johnson & Johnson, New Brunswick, N.J. While J&J's U.S. sales increased 4.3% for the year, sales rose 9.9% in the Western hemisphere and 13.4% in the Africa-Asia-Pacific market. Despite unit volume growth, J&J's sales in Europe declined 5.2%, reflecting a negative currency impact of 11.9%. Overall, foreign sales for J&J's Professional products division increased 1.9%, with domestic sales growing 5.8%.
