Toxicology: in vivo, in vitro. (Society of Toxicology annual meeting discussions)

The 33rd annual meeting of the Society of Toxicology, held in Dallas, Texas, attracted 4, 100 toxicologists from the United States and around the world. Symposia addressed immunotoxicology, environmental tobacco smoke, caloric restriction and toxicity, aging and stress proteins. Topics in the platform sessions included epidermal growth factor, risk assessment methods, transgenic animals, and non-cancer tisk assessment. Workshops were held on the safety of fat and macronutrient substitutes, the animal rights activist and incinerators of solid waste.
