An ongoing water injection/gas reinjection pilot project is definitely improving recovery and incremental production at the Snorre field in the Norwegian sector of the North Sea.
The Snorre field, discovered in 1979, is located in blocks 34/4 and 34/7 about 125 miles west of the Norwegian coastal community of Floro. Norway's Saga Petroleum A/S is operator of the field, with Esso Norway as operating partner. Other companies with working interests are Deminex, Idemitsu, Norsk Hydro, Elf Petroleum Norge, Amerada Hess, Enterprise Oil and DNO.
