Mass flowmeters have come a long way since the heady days of the late '70s and the first commercially available on-line Coriolis tubes. Not only have several Coriolis designs emerged, but other technologies-like thermal sensing - have moved on to cover wider flow ranges and more fluids. Further, meters that handle the problems of hazardous areas are available, and we're witnessing the advent of smart versions.
