The major thermal recovery properties that Shell Western Exploration & Production Inc. put on the block last summer in Kern County, Calif., have failed to receive an acceptable offer.

In June 1991, the company had its interests in the two fields on the block, representing about 12% of its total California production (Advanced Recovery Week 6/24/91).
