Despite the recession, some industies are having their best years ever. Among these industries, outplacement stands out. Outplacement firms are those contracted by the current employer to teach employees job-seeking skills and frequently secure new positions for them. Current corporate restructuring and downsizing trends have led to the elimination of many permanent positions within firms to reduce operating expenses and boost productivity.
