GDB, Carifa, 936 companies to join forces in an estimated $12M fund designed to help mostly small regional projects

The Commonwealth government is putting together a fund to guarantee 936 loans in the Caribbean. The fund is designed to fill part of the vacuum left last year by the federal government's decision not to guarantee such loans.

While the basic outline of the fund was made public last week, many of the details remain undisclosed, and it is not known when the fund will be available to guarantee 936 loans.
