Kmart plans for expansion progressing well

Kmart Corp.'s plans to establish 12 Pace Membership Warehouse and Builder's Square stores in Puerto Rico are progressing well. At present, the company is in the midst of negotiations for several sites on the island to locate the stores, however Kmart did not disclose the specific locations.

"Site negotiations are progressing well. Several executives and real estate people from the company have been on the island to evaluate all the sites," said Jan Potter, a spokesperson for Kmart Corp. in Troy, Mich.
