Convention center sparks recent interest
New investors visit island and videotape entire facility; if accord not underway by Aug. 31, Occidental gets option
A group of interested buyers from the mainland were in Puerto Rico last week inspecting the Condado convention and hotel complex, according to officials from the Puerto Rico Industrial Development Co. (Pridco).
"The group had expressed interest in the property prior to PaineWebber finalizing the prospectus," said Edwin Borelli, Pridco administrative vice president. "We sent them the prospectus when it was ready, they visited the property, and videotaped the entire complex inside and out."
