Caguas hospital gets $2M letter of credit
The Inter-American Hospital of Advanced Medicine (HIMA by its Spanish acronym) in Caguas has obtained a $2 million letter of credit from St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, Fla., according to HIMA President Joaquin Rodriguez.
The credit arrangement was approved last Saturday by the HIMA board of directors. The letter of credit will be used to guarantee a loan which will finance a cardiac catheterization laboratory at HIMA. The laboratory will include state-of-the-art biplane angiography and catheterization equipment.
In exchange, HIMA will refer patients who need heart surgery to the Tampa hospital.
