Bauer gives Banco Comercial 5 stars

Bauer Financial Reports Inc. has granted its highest bank rating to Banco Comercial de Mayaguez Bauer, based in Coral Gables, Fla., rated Banco Comercial a five-star bank, indicating a high level of financial soundness and credit-worthiness and ranking the bank among other U.S. banks in that category.

The $400 million-asset Banco Comercial, with 10 branches on the island, was also ranked by Money Magazine last month as one of the two strongest banks in Puerto Rico, the other one being Humacao-based Roig Commercial Bank.
