Dialogue: the first step towards peace: the Muslim community urges the formation of discussion groups to examine our shared sense of humanity and the need to eliminate weapons of mass destruction.

Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) are a symptom of our failure; human failure to progress beyond the "Tribal" stage of our social (attitudes, values, behaviour) and political development. Our modern social and political values and arrangements are surely more sophisticated than that of "Tribal" man, but our attitudes and behaviour and treatment of the "other" has not improved much. The earliest and the current human societal organizations, from clans and tribes to nations, have always engaged in robbing wealth and resources from the "other," and have treated the "other" as less than human.

Presently the most powerful political and economic institutions perpetuating injustices on the "other" are the nation states and the national business corporations, now most powerfully symbolized by the United States of America.
