Joaquin Viso: Breaking New Ground
These days, it seems the only thing in short supply at Mova Pharmaceutical Corp. -- the island's first locally owned drug manufacturing company -- is time.
Already, the countdown is on, marking the days until the completion of a multimillion-dollar plant expansion at Mova's Caguas-based headquarters. Expected to be finished in April, the latest building expansion will accommodate Mova's ever-increasing production demands by bringing the company's total manufacturing space to 180,000 square feet -- three times the amount of space that Mova began operating with just four-and-a-half short years ago.
"This business is hectic and challenging. At times, even a little bit too much so," said Joaquin Viso, president of Mova, during a recent interview," but we are very proud that we have achieved so much in such a short amount of time."
