The Northern California Ataxia Support Group held its quarterly meeting on Saturday, January 13, 2001, in the spacious recreation hall of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Lafayette, CA. We had a very nice turnout of 69 members. In addition to the reliable, solid core of regular attendees, we welcomed several new members as well as a few old members that we have not seen for awhile.

Helen Torres, the Group's Treasurer, opened the meeting in the absence of Mike Fernandes who was unable to attend. She announced that the International Ataxia Awareness Day would be September 25, 2001. Jodi Ames, our Group's coordinator for this event, solicited inputs from all members as to ways in which we could spread the word about ataxia with the objectives of making more people aware of ataxia and, …
