Companies often rent 1800 numbers for a couple of months after a recall is announced. If the number given is no longer operating, phone the manufacturer or retailer direct.
FOOD: Fromagent Australia has recalled Mauri Bon Taleggio Valsassina Cheese, 2 kg block and random weights, with a use-by date of 7 March 05, imported from Italy.
The problem: It may contain Listeria monocytogenes, which can cause illness or miscarriage in pregnant women, and illness in young children, the elderly or people with low immune systems.
What to do: If you froze it for later use, don't eat it. Contact your GP if you have concerns about your health. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund, or call 0416 234 031 for more information.
FOOD: Pasta Time has recalled Pumpkin Ravioli, use-by date May 15 2005, packaged in a 600 g foam box wrapped in plastic.
