Osaka Gas has announced a breakthrough that will allow waste PET bottles to be used in films, thus greatly expanding their recycled applications and potentially the amount recycled. The new technology hinges on causing the bottles' polyethylene and polyester to bond at the scale of 10 nanometers or less.
