The first fully automated parking garage, created by Robotic Parking, Inc. (12812 North 60th St. N., Pinellas Park-Clearwater, FL, 33760), opened in New Jersey. The facility is 56 ft. tall, 100 ft. deep and 100 ft. wide and can hold 324 cars, more than twice what such a space would otherwise accommodate, by virtue of a proprietary system of computer-guided pallets, elevators and rails.

The design eliminates the need for large ramping system to get to upper garage levels. The company formed a strategic partnership with General Electric to implement the automated parking software.
