The prevalence of breast arterial calcification is significantly lower among women who are on hormone replacement therapy, reported Dr. J. Cox of the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, England, and colleagues.
The researchers prospectively reviewed mammograms from 4,400 women. They lacked information about the women's HRT regimen and data about vascular disease presence and risk factors (J. Med. Screen. 9[1]:38-39, 2002).
